Deborah Bateson

Deborah works as Professor of Practice in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney. Deborah has worked as a doctor, researcher and educator in sexual and reproductive health for over 20 years. Her work is about making sure everyone can access high quality sexual and reproductive healthcare including cervical screening.

Deborah loves travelling and meeting new people in interesting places around the world.

Jane Ussher

Jane works as Professor of Women’s Health Psychology in the Translational Health Research Institute and School of Medicine at Western Sydney University. She researches sexual and reproductive health and the impact of cancer on marginalised populations.

Jane likes to paint and to walk her dog Oscar on the beach.

Iva Strnadová

Iva works as Professor of Special Education and Disability Studies at the School of Education at UNSW Sydney. She teaches current and future teachers how to best support students with disability in their classes. She also works on many research projects.

Iva loves lace-making, walks in nature and ironing.

Julie Loblinzk

Julie is an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Education at UNSW Sydney. She is a co-researcher working with Iva on many research projects. Julie is also a Board member of the Self Advocacy Sydney.

Julie likes doing craft activities and swimming.

Ee-Lin Chang

Ee-Lin works as Health Promotion Manager at Family Planning Australia. She has worked for over 10 years in the reproductive and sexual health sector and previously worked in a variety of roles within the disability sector for 8 years. She has worked on many projects with people with intellectual disability about reproductive and sexual health.

Ee-Lin likes cooking, eating and rock climbing.

Allison Carter

Allison (Allie) is a Senior Lecturer at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney, and an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University, Canada. Her research program uses co-design approaches and aims to strengthen responses to gender, social justice, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Allie likes to ski, bike, swim, and golf—though she spends most of her free time playing with her two young kids.

Sally Sweeney

Sally is a GP working in both primary care, and specialist reproductive health settings. She is also a clinical researcher with Family Planning Australia. She wants to provide accessible medical care and is involved in teaching other doctors.

Sally loves running (slowly), reading and spending time with her family, friends and her beautiful labradoodle.

Rosalie Power

Rosalie works as a Research Fellow at the Translational Health Research Institute, Western Sydney University. Rosalie works on research projects about how to improve the health of people with disability and LGBTQ+ people.

Rosalie loves doing puzzles and swimming.

Caroline Basckin

Caroline is a research associate/ post-doc fellow, and a casual academic at UNSW Sydney. She is involved in research projects to improve the lives of people with disability. She is also a learning enrichment teacher who is passionate about inclusive educational practices.

Caroline loves to spend time with her family and friends, travelling and reading.

Heather Jolly

Heather works as a project officer and educator at Family Planning Australia. She is passionate about sexual and reproductive health rights for all people and working with community to better understand and deliver accessible health education.

Heather likes rock’n’roll music and concerts, enjoying nature with her family and dog Alan and writing poetry for her friends.

Clea Anagnostopoulou

Clea has worked in the field of sexual and reproductive health for over 25 years as a clinician and educator. Dr Clea is a passionate advocate and presents regularly to health care providers on the topic of supported decision making and trauma informed care for people with a disability in the access to reproductive and sexual health care.

Clea loves walking in nature and travel, in particular exploring different cultures (testament to her Greek and Brazilian heritage).

Lauren Winkler

Lauren works as a senior researcher in the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney. She works on research projects in cervical cancer prevention with and for people with intellectual disability.

Lauren likes to travel and loves to swim in the ocean.

Michael David

Michael works as a Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Daffodil Centre, a joint venture between the Cancer Council New South Wales and the University of Sydney. Michael advises the ScreenEQUAL project team about the best ways to measure the effectiveness of our accessible resources on informed decision-making by people with intellectual disability.

Michael used to be a farmer and loves the countryside.
